A great article about Arts Publicity

A good read for PR hopefuls and artistes alike.

Those Goon-NUTS love The Goon Show LIVE!

a-bucket-of-GoonsThe World is FULL of Goon-type-NUTS

…and we’re pleased to note that a few of them turn up at our shows. At last Saturday’s Yulefest Dinner and Show, we had a room full of them.

One of their number was Gary from Rozelle, who sent us this wonderful note, which we’ve pasted here in full;

My Dad is a Goon Show nut and introduced me and my ears to the show at a very young age. When I heard there was a live version, I had to go and see it.

I can’t wait to tell my Dad, back in the old country, about it he (and his ears) will be extremely jealous.

The show was great! Three (and a bit) Goon Shows performed by a group of very impressive soundalike actor-type performers who were obviously enjoying it as much as I was.

The musical interludes featured a very impressive guitarist/vocalist who ably filled the spots of the indisposed Max Geldray and Ray Ellington. The performances were fitted between the courses of the meal we were having, which worked quite well.

It was a great evening – well worth the trip and the money and I’d recommend it to all comedy fans. After all, this is where it all began!

Waits for next show to go to…

We couldn’t put it any better Gary – and thanks our steaming friend, we’d love to see you at another one of our shows.

New Audiences love us too!

One of the things we’re especially pleased as punch about, is the number of new audiences who are discovering the joy of the cult comedy that the Goons cooked up.

Last Saturday night was no exception, with several ‘Goon-type-virgins’ coming along to our Yulefest 2017 Dinner and Show.

Here’s one of them, Melissa, explaining what she thought of the show;

We’re pretty chuffed… and given that there are only 4 shows left of our July season, we can’t wait to convert a few more Goon Fans.

Be sure to Book Your Tickets, or read about the show here.

Katrina reviews The Goon Show LIVE!

Like any show, we couldn’t keep on going if it wasn’t for our audiences.

Katrina came to last night’s Dinner & Show for Yulefest Blue Mountains. Here’s a YouTube clip of what she thought about the evening’s proceedings…

Have you booked for one of this month’s dinner / shows at The Metropole, Katoomba? There are only 4 left, so you’d better book those tickets.

Radio series casting soon

old style radio microphoneBryan has been negotiating with an established radio broadcaster over the last year, about producing a new radio series which is to be aired initially in Sydney, and potentially nationally, depending on feedback,  both on the air and possibly via podcast.

This project has not yet been finalised, however discussions have focused on either a comedy series, or something in the Film Noir style.

It is anticipated that funding will be sourced from a combination of channels, including traditional Government funding grants, crowd funding and philanthropic angels.

Initially, 4 or 6 episodes will be produced, and if they are deemed successful, a second and subsequent seasons will be developed.

Given the nature of the project, there is particular interest in blind or vision-impaired voice-over actors, as well as people of other diverse backgrounds, for whom opportunities exist for both cast and production roles.

To be kept in the loop regarding this project, including casting announcements and funding news etc., it is recommended that you subscribe to Bryan’s eNews.

If you have a philanthropic urge overcoming you, perhaps you might consider donating a small (or large) contribution via the PayPal button below.

Call-out for theatre / cabaret shows

I am always on the look-out for great shows to present in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.

If you have created a show, or have an established one and you’re looking for new audiences, the Blue Mountains might be a good place to explore.

Mother Goose dancing delicatelyNext to Sydney, this region is the most visited destination – and those visitors as well as the local residents, are always looking for great theatrical experiences.

Through my production company Entertainment Blue Mountains, I have an established marketing and ticketing infrastructure in place, and have contacts with many venue owners / managers.

If the idea of touring to this beautiful place is appealing to you, please make contact; all discussions are without obligation and will be strictly confidential.
